Living in Sedona

For those of us who live here, it comes as no surprise to overhear Sedona visitors voice their desire to relocate here.  Sedona has much to offer. The pace of the area is lively, but not stressful.  Views of the red rocks are visible from almost every location in Sedona. The residents are friendly. Architecture is unique to the area. Homes are reasonably affordable, especially when compared to other highly desirable, scenic, small cities. Pride of ownership is evident in neighborhoods. Crime rates fall far below state and national averages, perhaps attributable to a median resident age of 50 years. The big city is a short drive away, yet unspoiled wilderness lies just beyond our back doors. We know we are truly lucky to make our home in one of the world's special places.

Being able to enjoy daily sunshine, fresh air and natural beauty of the outdoors in the upper Verde Valley makes Sedona especially appealing. Walks to mystical vortexes, unbelievable views and spiritual locations are short, and always scenic. Wildlife will be spotted along most routes.

If archeology interests you, many Native American ruins are located within a short drive of Sedona.  Palatki Heritage Ruins, available by appointment, are right on the edge of town.  Many other ruins and mysterious rock writings lie less than a half-hour's drive away.

Families will find diverse activities abound in Sedona.  There's a skatepark in Uptown. First-run films are shown in the local theater. Horseback riding, Jeep trails and swimming are among the many activities kids of all ages will enjoy here.  On a hot day, Slide Rock State Park awaits.  Come early, as the park closes when maximum capacity is reached. An annual Forest Service Red Rock Pass gives vehicles access to the beautiful wilderness lying just beyond Sedona.

In addition to the usual mix of in-town activities, Sedona's three Sedona Oak Creek Unified School District learning facilities excel in diverse opportunities for young learners.  Driving past 10 year old Sedona Red Rock High School (548 enrollment) reveals a beautiful campus rivaling most community colleges in size and architectural style.

For those interested in personal life-enhancement, Sedona offers many options including main street locations, retreats, and resort getaways that specialize in physical and emotional well-being as well as spiritual renewal.

Whether you wish to call this red rocks area your "home" for a few days a year in one of our prestigious golf resort communities, immerse yourself in a beautiful, serene neighborhood, or relocate to the bustle of central community activity, we invite you to Sedona Arizona.  We know you will love living in Sedona as much as we do.
